Color preserver question

Hi, I am new to rod building...I'm almost finished with my second rod. I put the third coat of Flex-Coat color preserver and it went on pretty wet...I guess that there's not much soaking up of the CP anymore.

My question is...I applied the last coat of CP about 4 hours ago and I noticed some small opaque spots that I did not notice on the other applications. Is it just that it needs to dry more? I wanted to apply the FC High build epoxy this evening. I hope that those white blemishes dry clear.

I built a GUSA Wahoo 8' conventional rod for jigging slow and deep or for yo-yo style jigging. I used Fuji titanium guides, an ALPS reel seat and EVA grips. The rod is very light and will be a fine jigging rod.

Here are a couple of pics of my rod thus far....

Lookin' good so far. The opaque that you're seeing is more than likely a build-up of the solids in the CP that has settled in one spot. Most times it can be removed with denatured alcohol. Put some alcohol on a coffee filter or something else that won't leave lint and see if you can't wipe off the spots.

This is just the way I do it, so take it FWIW...

I would wait overnight before applying the finish.

When I first started using this environmentally friendly CP I had a lot of trouble with "floaties" showing up in the cured finish, especially over black. I've been told it was because I didn't let the CP dry completely. Now I wait a good 12 to 24 hours (depending on the weather) before applying the finish. No more problems.
