first of many

well i guess all of those questions have been put to use, i would like to thank comedie, doc ski, and whoever else helped me in learning how to do these wraps, as promised here are some pics, the tiger wrap was done with metallic red, gold undernieth then metallic blue on top, know the marbling is cool i used straight deep blue then added silver with a touch of deep red and metalic purple (the purple as i later found out is awesome take some and add it to the silver and you get this chamelion looking thing that is bad ass) the silver shows up and so does the red in any light but take it outside and the purple comes out and is wicked, (i would go outside but there is some nasty weather coming my way, our noaa weather radio has us in a tornadoe watch) again thanks to all of you guys, and to top it off i got my box from bdswag today to with about 50 stickers in it plus all of my stuff i bought god i love this site.

thanks randy sorry i forgot to thank you, i forgot to mention while i was starting to marble the white rod my dryer starts making this funny noise then sparked and died. so needless to say for 4 fucking hours i hand spun that white rod till it started to set up, another question(i have many) is there a quicker setting finish out there, if this happens again i dont want to be doing that again for hours. also where can i get the lettering stencils or whatever to put my name and the rods stats, i would like to find out.

Mark,
No need to thank me, you built it. What finish are you using? As far as name and rod stats, I use an Alps printer to make my own. Decal Connection can also make them for you. Randy.

Q: is there a quicker setting finish out there?
A: yes,its Diamondite,by Swifty manufacturing. It will cure faster if exposed to the heat from normal light bulbs. To be honest, most will tend to set faster when warmed with a heat gun. Another thing, You may be putting too much finish on if you have to rotate that long. I use a rotisserie motor from an old defunct BBQ grill. Its designed for turning a "load" for many hours and it hasn't failed me on more rods than I can remember doing. Most finishes should set up in 1 - 1 1/2 hours.

Q: where can i get the lettering stencils or whatever to put my name and the rods stats
A: Many use the manufacturers decals that come with the blank. Not all companies provide these however. Others use an ALPS printer if they can find them. Still others use small printers made by Brother. Try Decal Connection for custom decals. They make a great product. Decal Connection.Inc
