Super Seeker Blanks

Hey Guys, this is my first post here at bloodydecks so bear with me. I'm looking to get some super seeker blanks wrapped, but seekers blank catalog is confusing. I'm looking for 3 blanks, and 8' 25lb, 8' 30 lb, 7' 40lb. Also looking for some clarity hear on the super seeker 6480, It lists as a true 30lb stick, but I remember my glass 6480 from the old days fished 40 better than 30?????? Thanks for the help.

I believe the glass 6480 is like 20-50 while the SS blank is rated at 20-40. So, given those figures alone yes it would be a better 30 lb. stick. But comparing the glass bank to the SS is like comparing apples to oranges. Two completely different blanks so they will feel different. Jim Upton (DragonMaster) works for Seeker so maybe he'll chime in here and clarify some of the other blanks for you. Randy.

The 8' 25# blank would be a CLB806H (270H-8 built), the 8' 30# would be the 6480, CJBF80 blank, that Randy just mentioned and the 7' 40# blank would be the CJBF70 blank (6470 built). That sounds like a great set you're planning on building. The only ones I have that you've mentioned in the Super Seeker series are the 25# and 40# rods. I have the factory version and I really like them. I have an older S glass 6480 and it feels more like a 40# stick than a 30# rod.

Seeker Blanks

Your best bet would be to call Seeker Rods and talk to Randy. He is the designer of the Super Seekers....562-4910076

Randy, Jose and Denny gave you good info. I would only add that you need to decide what you intend to do with each of the rods. The tip on a blank in the same weight class will be a little smaller and faster for live bait than one for throwing jigs so indeed you may want to call and ask Randy what he thinks.
