Reel seat?

Well another weight question:

Between a heavy graphite reel seat and an aluminum reel seat with similar internal and external dimensions which is lighter?

As for durability any issues with using a graphite reel seat on a 40lb set up?

i would just go ahead and use an aluminum reel seat for a 40# stick if you have to use a jumbo plastic one to fit the blank.

I use the Fuji HD graphite seats for 50lb and under..Aluminum above that..BUt Aluminum will cover the whole spectrum..

Other than that is all about how it looks.. The Alps aluminum seats are really nice and look great..

The Graphite seat is Lighter.

Louis at Bad-Fish told me that he has weighed several different makes/models and the weight difference is very slight.

Personally, I like the low maintenance graphite. Most builders I know put the aluminum/graphite line at 40# to 60#.

I have a number of the Fuji HD that are many years old & have had no issues at all.
