Newell P440; Saltist 30: or Saltist 40

what is the best for casting jigs, yo-yoing, and live bait fishing?
what rod suggestions for the reel you choose? mostly will fish 30lb. test on the reel maybe 40 if bite is wide open on bigger yellowtail. mainly for Catalina island and 14 mile bank

Get the saltist 40 high speed if its more bait and surface iron, or the saltist 30t high speed if its more yo yo and bait. If your not going to get high speed saltists, then i'd get the p440.

I would stay away from the 400 series Newells. The drags are the same size as the 300 series. I would go with either the 300 series or 500.

No since you want a do it all reel I would go with the Saltist 40.
