Re: another question about extended screws

Rather than use extended screws, try to find a deeper clamp. I use an old aluminum calmp from a Newell base designed for a Penn 6/0. That way I can use the regular screws. Many years ago I lent a 332 to a good friend who used it on a 540. He put extended screws on it, and when I got it back I mounted it on a smaller diameter rod without realizing the screws were longer. I ended up tweaking the spool before I caught on what had happened. I use the deeper clamp to mount a 332 on a 90J with the standard screws.
