Get another stick and use both......After a while, I'm sure you'll have a perference and you will answered your own question.

Re: Which reel should I use?

Saltist 30 .......smooth, strong, solid reel....take a look

Torium 30.....too big, smooth, anti reverse problems
Newell.........nice plastic er graphite reel that is easy to work on to replace dogs, drags and handles....because you will be working on them.

I fished all of these reels and a few others and if I was fishing local......saltist hands down.....for a star drag reel

Re: Which reel should I use?

Do you mean a saltist 30 or a 30H?

I think a pro gear trumps all the star-drag reels, as long as you can ignore the fact that the spool is a brick.

Re: Which reel should I use?

The 30H is a great reel and if you want the higher ratio then why not?
Saltist is a great reel

Pro Gear is solid as well but you never know what is going to happen with that company.....hope they stick but it is a competitive market place.
