OK so I am reading the Box that my Avet SX 5.1 came in, It says 9lbs on Strike 14lb MAX with freespin. Well I KNOW for a Fact they are ALOT stronger than that ( see my thread on the Alaska Avet Challenge) We KILLED MANY HUGE flatties with this little reel and it kicked their ass' 70-80 90lb + fish ..with 65lb straight spectra. now I read my EX 4/02 and it says 20lbs MAX Drag at Free spool CMON How can this be? My MXLs are stronger than my sx...The LX is stronger than the MX (especially the 2 speed) andso HOW can the EX/4/02 ( haven't fished it yet so I don't know) be just FIVE pounds more drag than the lil ole SX???? EDUMACATE ME PLEASE!!! How do these numbers work??

well if the avet manufactuer told u the ex 4/02 had almost the same amount of drag as the pro 30.. would u spend another 100 dollars on the pro30?

I don't like Avets so I don't know anything about them...........but I do know that drags all work different with diff spool sizes. And i imagine they quote so much much drag #'s so in case you get less you can't bitch to them??

The 4/0's were under engineered IMHO. IF you go and look back you'll find that Alantani souped one up to impressive drag numbers. It's not to hard to do if you want to play around with it.

Yea I will have one of the guys do it for me. If I open this thing up well.....................................

I DO NOT do my own Reel work cause I like them to actually WORK after they are re assembled.
