As to cost, by your third line fill, the spectra has paid for itself. It’s also lighter on the spool so should add a little distance to your cast.
Tangles suck and picking out a backlash can be very difficult.

Awesome Big Game Reel, June 12, 2006

Smooth, lightweight, and the drag system on them are second to none. That's all i fish anymore, and I've been at this for almost 45 yrs and I'm only 47 yrs young. Good Luck and tight lines. My favorite rig is my 229 with wet drags. I wanted a bit more line capacity for tails and dodo's. I use my 220 for inshore stuff.
But the best thing of all (which is why I will NEVER own an AVET) is that I put all my shit away last year, forgot to clean it. Pulled it all out a few weeks ago, wioed it all down, changed the drags, and they're all like brand new. I am horrible at maintanence so my Newells work perfect for me.

Disimilar stuff all over the place. Brass gears too. Some of the worst maintenance I've seen a reel endure was/is on an AccuCrap. I've got buddy's that rinse them with a hose and call it good. It's all I do with the addition of Salt Eliminator now that I have the stuff.
Hey Stan, those Luna's are sweet!
