Favorite Calico Reel
Checked out a lot of reels today. I was just wondering which reel is your FAVORITE for Calico fishing. Whether it's fishing the rubbers, soaking a bait, or swinging the jigs; which is your favorite calico reel? Scratch that. What is your favorite setup for Calicos?

I like the Daiwa Coastal inshore reel. About $120 and puts out about 10-12 pounds of drag. Long casts and very smooth. For the money, you can't go wrong. I've seen some skippers use Newell 220's with straight spectra. I will probably do this, this coming summer as the spectra cuts through the weeds. Trinidad 12's are nice as well, however, at $320, that may be a bit too much dinero for the budget. I have my reel set up on a seeker inshore BCSW 808T on 12 pound test. Good Luck!

Daiwa Procaster with 15 lb mono. not a calcutta or trini and definently not an Avet but ive never once had a problem with anything. easily taken apart also in case i get salt in it from my yak.

Anyone fish the Shimano Cardiff 200? Pretty smooth and has 10lbs. of drags. Not bad for $99.99.
