30 Newells// All broke!

Not really, I just wanted the Newell guru's to help me out.

I need parts. A couple side plates for 300 series and a couple aluminum handles. Help please. I need to start doing this now since next year we'll be catching 45lb Yellowtail at LaJolla. They have to be that big after eating all the bait that's been in the water all year.

Thanks in advance for the info.

Sideplates can be tough to find. If you get stuck, go to the source.

Re: 30 Newells// All broke!

Just got off the phone with Newell. They want over $35 for a left sideplate that needs replacing because the platic cracked. No impact, just brittle plastic. Same story for the right side plate. New handle to replace the graphite one that split (on a fish fishing 25lb on a 338) just under $30 each for an aluminum one. I'm less than impressed. Just sending it in to see if they will warranty the stuff has a possible $40 charge. No thanks. I'll keep piecing mine together until I run out of parts. I think the one reel was just bad. My other's seem great. It's just frustrating. Doubt I'll buy another Newell. The icing on the cake was when she told me the bearing caps, since I wanted metal ones, are $7+ each.

That sucks! I lost a metal bearing cap off a Daiwa and they sent me one gratis.

I still say check with P'Bod.

Re: 30 Newells// All broke!

I got a used side plate from Kens custom reels in O-side for a very reasonable cost.

Possible alternative. Works like new.

Never could get the tracking # for the other alledged 39 missing, never heard back from the manufacture, lets PUMP Avet.

Iam going to start a Avet thread that says 30 all broken, well not really just looking for Avet gurus. See how that goes over with special interests..
