Newell P440-F

Just got a used newell P440-F given to me, Im using it on a jigstick. The reel doesn't freespool like I want and makes a creak when the spool is spun in freespool. I haven't even had time to take it apart and look at it, any pointers on how to make the reel tits.

Pull one of the sideplates off, pull the spool out. Take a little steel wool and polish up the spindles, real light though. Take the bearings out of the caps and soak them in white gas for a little while. Pull them out and lay them flat on a paper towel. Now put Speed-X on top of the bearing races and let it soak in a bit. Wipe down the inside of the bearing caps with a QTip. Put it all back together and just adjust the bearing caps until there's just a little play back and forth and you should be good to go. If your close to OB, bring it by and I'll show you............
