Shimano Torsa! high tec high price !

Looking at the Shimano Torsa lever Drag , But the price is over the rail for me.
Do we need that high tec of a reel ? over $700. after tax then $50- for each cam add some spectra and line and put in on a pole. wow $1000.00 easy , how far will it go?
