TLD Star 15/30 Drag problem?

I fished the infamous barries today and lost about a dozen of them due to my TLD Star 15/30. I would be cranking and cranking and when i get stopped, I wind down hard to set the hook with the jig. All of the sudden the star drag would back all the way down by itself. By the time I fix my drag, my possible JP fish go bye bye.

I dont have any upgrades on my reel other than the handle. I have a good feeling the Trini handle is guilty for this. Anyway I can fix it?

Its time to send it to Shimano or take it to Pacific Edge since you're in LA, and have some new drags installed. The drag washers are shot.
