113H with Accuframe, or Tiburon frame - standard or narrow - take your pick, and doesn't have to be new.
Aluminium spool, and Accurate 4:1 stainless gears.
HT100 drag, greased.
Take on just about anything, with 50lb braid, mono topshot and a decent rod.
And so easy to maintain... your grandson/daughter won't get to wear it out, if you rinse it off and lube it every now and again.

Old school?
Yup.

Value for money?

Oh yeah....

Word! Just fill the reel with 65# spectra and you can fish fluorocarbon shock leaders from 20 to 50# on that reel. That way you don't need the extra spools.

Without a second thought, Pen 500--Red sides. Caught everything but a marlin on them.

Daiwa SL20SH, I have landed more fish, from inshore to offshore to 10 day, on that little reel than any other in my arsenal. Light weight, solid and buttery smooth drags. I have two that are pushing 20 years old and still perform as good as the day I got them.

My vote goes to my all time favourite for just on 40yrs now.
And it still casts.fishes well.
ABU 9000 Red. Automatic two speed. Switches according to line load. All by itself.
I've caught Mulloway over 60lbs on it. and 1 lb bream. on a light leader. BIG Kingfish too..
ABU's are way underrated.

Retired one last year. T'other I still use for beach spinning.
39 yrs old that one. and can still get spares for it.

No possible answer
40 rigs in the quiver
If its got fins - I'll have a go
from fly, thru ultralight spin & baitcast & jig to full on knockdown drag out short stroke stuff with a 50 2-speed.

There just aint a reel made that can do it all.
Hunger for a B2665NN to add to the quiver though.
