If I could only have one reel and was broke, it would be a TLD 20 or 25 with an upgraded handle.

Daiwa Grandwave 30 (silver sealine) casts like a cannon, fished it up to 65 lb straight spectra, feels good, lightweight. . . , if not that one, one of my old Sealine 30 h's (Jigmasetr sized) again, just works and "feels" good.

Strictly because for the entertainment factor it would have to be the Torium 20 I just sold. I had it for about five years. Fished it stock, experienced a Sea Lion hookup that resulted in one torn up drag washer. Caught some fish with it. Installed aftermarket drag washers, Carbontex from Smoothie as well as an aftermarket drag plate from Cal. Finally on an April 8 day this year it got very exciting when I hooked a Yellowtail on the yoyo iron and let go of the handle and watched it spin backwards! Very entertaining, there, and fortunately, no injuries. I've heard of and seen some bad ones. I replaced the one way roller bearing on the handle shaft and the anti reverse dog and sold it for $100. Adios and thanks for the memories.

If we were discussing trout reels, I love my Penn Prion. I can throw lures all day with it without a single problem. If fact, I do not ever recall being hampered by line twist with it.
