Tiagra 12

Hey guys, just picked up a Tiagra 12 and am hoping to fish 50lb on it at Alijos this fall. Do you think I can pull it off and it so how much spectra of what lb rating would be best, I was leaning towards 65lb spectra with about a 50 yard top shot of 50lb. What do ya think?? Also does anyone know where I can get the clamp for the tiagra 12, I bought this one used and it didn't come with. Thanks,- Matt

Yeah, it would work. 65 solid or 60 hollow, but I like short topshots. If it were me, I would fill the spool w/spectra and use a 15 foot topshot. Reel specs have plenty of drag both at free and max. Degrease the spool bearings and oil.
