TiCA ReeLs???

Just wondering what people thought about them, I heard about them at the Fred Hall Show in Long Beach. Just wondering how they compare to other brands (Shimano, Daiwa, etc.) as far as price, durability, drag, etc.

Thanks in advance for the Help!!!!

I have a Tica Caiman 200A. That thing is rock solid. Casts great. Used to have a Corsair 400A and have used my buddys cardiff before but I like the Tica better. It has 12 bearings. Dont even know where you can put that many bearings but thats what the specs say. The frame is extremely strong for a tiny baitcaster. Id say its a knockoff calcutta. From what I hear TICA used to manufacture for Shimano, but Shimano changed factories and Tica started making their own reels. The other reels they make dont look too great but the caiman is a great little reel. I got mine off ebay for like $50 or so. I just got a 30# albie last week on the condor with it using 15# test. Got the job done. (No frame flexing like the Corsair/catala/corvalus). Great reel for the price. I'm sure theres better out there though.

There have a been a ton ton of TiCA reels on ebay lately if anyone's interested. I've never used one myself.

I like Tica reels. The Tica Cybernetic GG-100RH is my recent acquisition. 8 RRB ball bearings and smooth action. Its a big one (approximately 30 ounces) and i use it for trolling. Got a good Indo-Pacific king mackerel off Naulo Point, Zambales on a night troll (7:05 pm) using a 5 5/8 inches Yo-zuri hydro magnum chrome mack.

Line load is 450 meters of Sufix Tritanium 30 lbs test monoline. Got the mack in less than 5 minutes after hookup.

The Cybernetic has a water resist drag knob seal and the shaft below the rotor has another seal that prevents moisture from entering the internals. Got it for PHP (Philippine Pesos) 2,600. Dollar to peso is 1 dollar= roughly 45 pesos.

The quality is good and the price competitive. The pic of me on the left shows a Tica Seaspirit SSC-558 conventional level-wind on a Seaspirit 50 lbs class conventional boat rod.

The Tica Camry GP-4000 i used in a Toman Tournament is silky smooth. Great for bass cranking in Lake Caliraya, Cavinti, Laguna, Philippines.
