newell reel ???

I have a gift card to bass pro but live in SD dont want to drive up, my question is i have a 8 ft jig stick and was wanting to know if any one could suggest a model of newell reel from this list. I have a jig master 500 on there now but it feels a bit to big and heavy for the rod.

What lb. test you gonna fish on it? If your gonna fish 30 lb. I'd go with the 332. If your gonna fish 40 lb. I'd get the 533

Are those the only options? I would go with a 338. I use a P338 with 30lb, but will use 40 at times at well.

If you feel the 500 is too big your only option is the 332 (slightly narrower than the 500), I fish it with 30-40 locally for both jig and bait. The 338 is the same size as the 500 (would be my choice as a local jig reel). If you are planning on using it offshore then your only option is the 533. Good luck.

332 backed with 50lb spectra..Then 100 + yds of what ever you want. Wet drag the drags and your good to go. Its a great 30 to 40lb reel..After that go 533..
