| Daiwa Coastal inshore 153h
I'd like to know what opinions you guys have on this reel.
I've heard lots about the Curado etc.. Just not much on this reel.
Is it a winner?
Thanks David

Thanks David | I have a couple of the Team Daiwa Advantage (TD 150H) which is the freshwater version of the Coastal. I bought them before the coastal came out. The only real difference is that the coastal is supposedly more salt water resistant.
Mine have performed flawlessly for inshore/bay fishing. I usually just fish straight 8# mono to flip plastics. Placed on a GUSA rod, the combo is so light you can throw it all day.

Very nice, tons of drag, has 15# mono on it right now but am loading it with 30# braid and plan on using it for yellowtail on paddies. Will be on a Seeker Inshore 706 (10-17#) rod.

I ordered a Shimano Calcutta rod 8FT medium action 10-20 line. | The TDH only holds 140 yards of 12# so the inshore is probably similar. If you are looking for something to use in the kelp, etc, you should probably get a calcutta or put straight braid. Low profile reels tend to have very low line capacities since they are designed for freshwater/light tackle where the line tests are pretty low.

I fish both a Coastal nd TA 153H, which are virtually identical (the coastal has no magnetic cast control adjustment), and I love them. Great for 10 or 12 # mono. Ideal swimbait reel.
I use a round reel (Catala) as my kelp cutter, though.

Should get 250yds of 30#braid or 300+ of 20#braid on this reel. The new Daiwa Samurai braid looks reaaaaal nice but is reaaaal pricy.

Do any of you guys have both the Daiwa inshore and the Curado?
If so what do you like about each or don't like.
Wow yellowtail in kelp patties. It must be pretty stout to handle those yellows.

I have a Coastal and love it. I have almost 300 yards of 20# spectra on it on a GLoomis inshore rod. It makes a killer setup for throwing plastics, lures, even small iron. For the price, you definately can't go wrong.

get to the bass board and see what the guys that use this stuff day in and day out are saying. good opinion here too, but there are a few on here that are over the top in their fishing schedules using this gear a ton, see what they say too. they will give you the straight dope, they fish Shimano, Abu and Daiwa and will tell you whats worked best. When they dont like tackle, it gets replaced.

Sorry Charles, not meant that way
But Ceez, Denek, Justin, Photog DuaneD and the others in their crews are either sick fishheads or just the biggest boosters there are. You cant fake fishing almost every day. Those boys get it done.
When im buying tackle i want all the input i can get, and most def from those types.
