Daiwa "insohre" makes for a great rockcod weight.

I concur. Bought one when they first came out. It's ok, but feels like a cheap plastic toy compared to a curado. I really like the Quantum Accurist PTS. Super smooth with tons of drag.

Alright then, Time will tell i guess.

The good thing is i'll have both.

The Daiwa products I've used prior have been good to me.

Funny LIL Ceez, but i don't think it weighs that much.

There is a review...

Daiwa Coastal Review - Inshore baitcasting reel page2

I chose to go with the 153HST

Fishing Reel Review - Daiwa Advantage 153HST Supertuned Reel Review

It can handle a little bit more for $20. I know a lot of guys here love the curado. might want to go to a store and just see how each of them feel/weigh/spool.

good luck

If light weight means a reel is no good then I guess I'd better toss out my Newell and Avets

I've been using mine to C&R bonita and so far it's been a champ though most fish were less the 10#'s (but a scrappy 10#'s). Like I said I plan on using it for deep water Yellowtail. If it's like last year it should be a rat killer. If the big boys show up I'm back to the the sx.

I have one...Ceez gave it to me. I can tolerate crap reels so take it as it is. I caught many good fish on the coastal, granted chris had already killed the reel, it still worked. It was crunchy and just not smooth but this is after some extensive abuse.

The coastal is in the shop as we speak getting overhauled, most likely needs new gears and everything else...I can let you know after it comes home.

I dont own any Curado's or chronarch's but I have fished them and if money is no thing I would stay with shimano for life, they actually have some weight to the reel and the warrantee is golden. I do have other shimano reels and they kill it.
