Get the Saltiga, You won't regret it.

I have both a Saltist and a 30t Saltiga.

Saltiga is a complete reel, Smooth, great drag, lots of power with good speed for jigs if you want. The 30t is only 4.9 to 1 but with the tall spool almost pulls in a yard per crank. Thats all the speed you'll ever need but with loads of power.
Get the best and forget the rest.

thanks

Hey guys,Thanks for all the input! Going to replace the drags in the Penns and leave them on the old glass sticks and down the road will probably invest in a taste of new technology with a saltiga and new rod.

A 30T is like the Jigmaster 501... narrow and tall. The 30 is more like a a Squidder 140... wide and short. Both hold the same amount but in a different form factor. The 30T is a narrow version of the 40 and 50. The 30 is a wider version of the 20.

A Saltist 20 is great for 15-20, the Saltist 30T for 20-30, the Saltist 40 for 25-40. Lower gear ratios for bait and higher for iron.

However, it looks like your old reels are in great shape so just fish them while you think about what you'd want in a new reel. You could add a Saltist 40 w/30# mono for throwing iron and just use the Jigmasters for bait.
