Ive got calico's to YT on that set up with no problem's. It's a great inshore set up and that's what I like to do, hope this help's you out.

Name: Iconpyro Vessel: I wish I had one...I wouldn't be working then. Location: City of Angels Job:Box maker | I just bought a Daiwa Advantage HSTA 153H. I spooled 130 yrds of PowerPro Phantom Red 30lb along with a short 15 yards of 12 lb mono. Used it at catalina this weekend. I have an old Sabre BassStroker rod thats rated 8-20lb. A lot of the guys were using more sensitive rods.

Job:Seaforth Sportfishing Bio: "... and how many days do you think you've been fishing in the last 12 months?" "about 400" | yep, 30lb spectra is your best bet. top it with whatever you want. look into some telescoping flipping sticks for freshwater bass. the majority of them are 7'2" and a telescoping rod is a little better than a 2-piece IMO. you'll find alot rated for 15-20lb mono or 30lb braid. Don't listen to them, Curados kick ass. just check your drags before and after any big trip. |

It is wax coated and pretty stiff until the wax wears off. There are several good braids out there to choose from. Jerry Brown, Berkley, Blackwater to name a few. I think you will be much happier with casting distance, and overall performance with uncoated.
We have caught plenty of YT, and even a tuna or two on the Curado 200. Curtis even hooked a Mola on one a couple of years back. Damned thing ate a sardine, and jumped like a marlin. It's a blast! Have fun.
