How did you calculate better odds of landing 'lupe Yellow Fin Tuna with a 2-speed?
I am still thinking of buying a 16VSX for 'lupe Yellow Fin Tuna. While this is empirical at best, the length of time it takes to get Yellow Fin Tuna boated does not increase odds of tax submission. In fact, I was exposed to the strategy of not hastening boating Yellow Fin Tuna so that others can feed the tax collector.
When dealing with a predator such as the infamous 'lupe tax collector, it is entirely possible that only luck will help. A great white in its natural environment and without external control will always call shots.
However, I can see logic in wrenching Yellow Fin Tuna to boat quickly for opportunity for another. On the other hand, I like the idea of a reel that's easy to cast so that bait is presented quickly. Additionally, I like the idea of 'dines not having to pull line heavier than 40lb. So I guess it might boil down to which option is most appealing to individual anglers. I certainly would not condemn anyone opting for a 2-speed; after all, it's logical to use one.
