Any San Antonio, TX Info?

We are planning on going to San Antonio in May for my son's graduation from Air Force basic training. The timing looks like it will also coincide with our anniversary. I though we might stay a few extra days and check out the San Antonio area (you know, tourist stuff!). I have never been there and wondered if any BD members had the scoop on the area, hotels, restaurants, places not to miss etc. I know there is lots of information on line, but hoping for some real first hand intel.
