| Oh shit
Woke up early this am and well no fishing shows on. Rolling through the 900 channels kinda fell on the french news channel from Paris. Now I realize this is the " french" but................... They were reporting that we ( America) are looking at going through our second financial crisis and that we are about to "disintegrate" much like the Soviet Union did..................Man if that is what the rest of the world thinks about our situation we just might really be screwed.

You're worried about wha they think in FRANCE? 900 channels and you couldn't find at least one soft porn program? If you think we're f'ed, they are in 10 times worse trouble!

just thought it was interesting that the rest of the world was taking bets on our failure...................seems that our leaders are not only taking away our fishing, but our spot in the world to. Very sad that we are this fucked up.

The French economy has rebounded much better than anticipated and they are doing well now.
We're still in limbo. The signs are there that we are making a recovery but it is very fragile at this moment. We need to see an increase in jobs before I'll believe we're out of the woods.

It sounds like they're repeating the same assumptions that some Russian political mutts started spewing last year. The Soviet Union was much more ethnically and economically fractured than the U.S. and of course, held together with an iron fist.
The French media just need something to talk about just so someone will listen to them, kinda like our own.

It's like this. In our own bad times we are still better than them. In our good times we are assholes because they aren't. We all hate the French anyway. All those dickheads would be goose stepping and named Fritz if it wasn't for our fathers and grandfathers and the thousands of people who made guns, ships, planes to bail their f'n asses out. Talk to anybody of that generation in Europe and we are hero's. My mother was one of them who was rescued from a concentration camp by Americans.
In the end we are and always will be the best there is in this world. Different and with flaws but always the best. Ask anybody on the street including those who risked their lives to get here what they thing about the bad times. Our bad beats their good anytime.

I'm still surprised that people think the french are arrogant and hate the US. I've spent plenty of time in France and as long as you aren't the ugly american tourist the people are incredibly friendly and appreciative of americans.

Going to war without France is like going deer hunting without your accordian.....you just leave a bunch of useless baggage behind. -Jed Babbin (former deputy undersecretary of defense)
Try googling French Military Victories and click the I'm feeling lucky button, pretty funny.
Oh yeah, Fuck the French.
