That being said I'd like to be able to shoot someone breaking into my truck....
Took a 9 iron to the thief that didn't run one night....Didn't have time to grab my gun... BTW the statute of limitations has lapsed since that "assault."

Like it or not my friend, people are PROUD to be TEXANS, not something you can say for being from the peoples socialist state of kalifornia.
My little one and I used to play a game in the car looking for US/Texas flags. It usually runs almost even,he came out here the 1st. time and wanted to see a California flag. Hell, I had to take him to the post office just to find one.
And I'll bet 1/3 the USMC are from Texas.
Its alright if you know the rules, just out here they change on a daily basis.
And its secede we would want to do.

With this particular statute in mind, wouldn't it be funny if California actually had a LOWER crime rate than Texas? Crime rate for Texas: Corrections Statistics for the State of Texas Crime rate for California: Corrections Statistics for the State of California
Not "hating" on Texas here, or even really seriously commenting on this particular statute (so many variables at hand account for crime depending on the state). Just want to say I loved the time I spent in San Angelo (Goodfellow AFB) and San Antonio (Medina Annex) whilst serving in the US Army. Good people, and great fishing.

If you paused before typing, you would be able to figure out that I am ok with using deadly force when it comes to being a immediate life threatening situation, such as rape, breaking into your house, being car jacked, physically assaulted, ....fine, kill the skum bag.
but sitting in the safety of your home, seeing a person break into car, IMO does not justify pulling a gun out of your closet, pointing it out your door, and blasting the person. That is murder. You don't like it, what ever. But there was nothing that was BS about my comment.
I'm ok with Texas's laws. I also think criminals get treated with kids gloves, which pisses me off...but the Texas Law leaves a lot of room for "abuse", or accidental shooting.
