Well, we arrived safely, the trip was fun and uneventful.
Next thing I know, Ray Bouton picks me up at 8am the next day and we head out 330 miles to Alpine, AZ where his truck is broke down. We drove up in a borrowed truck with a goose neck trailer and got the truck taken care of. We spent the night at 9000 feet in a camper where I saw my breath when I woke up

Freakin cold, but I loved being up in the mountains. Ray is scouting the area as he had been drawn for the Elk hunt that starts I believe the day after Thanksgiving.
Anyway, the Elk were standing along side the road all over the place, mostly cows, but just like the deer in upstate NY.
Anyhow, I am going to pull my toyhauler up there, probably the day after Thanksgiving, and set up a camp near Ray's camp. I guess I will be posting in the hunting forums for awhile
BTW, no, I am NOT bored with retirement, and I have already lost my watch and have NO IDEA what day of the week it is, and don't care
From the deserts of Yuma, Tucson, and high plains of Sierra Vista, to 9000 feet in the White Mountains near Alpine AZ, so far so good..............
