how old is it ? have you called lowrance and see if they will replace it ? !
They have replaced 2 of the 2000 and 2 of the 3000 so far and the new one is the latest up date version
Might Want to ask if you can upgrade to the 4000 if you have to spen $$ you will probally need a soft ware upgrade and thats some thing you should aslo do any way . Things work and run better with the lates updates
Ever since I got the new 3000 and updated my software , no more issues and my units get a lot of time on them
I have a new updated spare but sorry do not want to part with it .
lei extras has them

Had the same problem, the Lowrance antennas are crap IMO. If you have to spend money to get one buy a Maretron brand. Solid as a rock and about the same $$

Omakase,
I have seen that suggestion before, but haven't seen anyone actually do it. Are you running a Maretron on a Lowrance unit or do you know someone that is? If so, were any modifications or uploads required.
Thanks so much!

Plug 'n play, no issues. I am running one on an LCX111C-HD which came with a dead LGC-2000 right out of the box.

Steve, get a hold of Lowrance tech support and tell them you were told by the reps that they know that they had some bad antennas and they acknowledged they were going to replace them for free. They will send you a new one. I had to play hardball with them and they came through. If you need more help call me. Gee it helps to have good Lowrance rep buddies.

Hi Ron,
I finally got around to calling Lowrance customer service about it. I clearly stated that it was 18 months old and I was asking them to provide coverage beyond the 12 month warranty period. I very politely explained that I was a 20 year customer of Lowrance, that I was still running my X-70 sonar, had also purchased 2 Global Nav Sport units during past 20 years, and had been a strong advocate for their products during this time. I let them know that I had plans to upgrade my X-70 soon, and their decision on whether to cover a new antenna would effect my choice of a new sonar. Because it was out of the 12 month warranty period, they would only sell me a new antenna at a discount price with a 6 month warranty, about $110 (for a unit that cost $500). I asked if it was their expectation that a $500 unit should only last 18 months. They said no, but they had policies to follow.
I even told them I talk to thousands of recreational anglers each year. They were unswayed.
I think its going to take the rep to call to get some resolution. The tech was sympathetic, but the supervisor was not.
I'll give you a call soon and we can talk fishing.

Steve, I sent this on to my buddy to see what can be done for you. We should be able to get this taken care of somehow. Lowrance was sold to Navico and it is tougher to deal with them now than when Daryl Lowrance owned it. If you do a search on thehulltruth.com for Lowrance-I believe her name was Linda Colt or something like that. She gets things done for customers. I just found her name on there with a search.
Call her. There is the post with her info.
I have had my lcx 38c hd for 6 months have had the boat in the water for 60 hrs and am on my 4rth gps puck, while I have spent allot of time on hold once I get someone they have taken care of it.The last time they just sent me a new one without a deposit or waiting to receive my old one. This to will be my first and last Lowrance.
