I've never fished in Oregon but wasn't Depoe Bay in a scene in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" with Jack Nicholson? If that's the one you guys have a hairy entrance to deal with and probably worse if the swells are lined up on the hole which should give the right-of-way to the boats entering with a following sea on their tail.

So if I'm a "regular" going in and out of that entrance I would understand someone being extra careful and sending out the message. Looks the running of the buls in Pamplona. One way street at best.
