The off shore waters have been too big to fish but over the next few days they're suppose to be laying down. I did take my wife crabbing out of Hammond on Sunday. We got our 24 crabs with in an hour or two. We crabbed on the Oregon side where the waters were calm, about a half mile down from Hammond. The 2 crab rings out fished the 4 Danielson square traps. I ran into an old Asian guy that was pretty disappointed, he had set out 6 rings and the current had pulled all his buoys under. Poor old guy, really felt sorry for him, I'm sure next time he'll use 2 buoys instead of one. It was a little foggy and a little breezy but over all a real nice day.

We fished the Rogue last week, fishing was great, catching was slow. Hoping the adult steelies show up soon. Few pixs for your Oregon fix.
Cheers,
Mike

Mike, nice fish. Do you fish the Smith much? I would like to get down your way. Fishing the upper Rogue tomorrow afternoon. Would love to see how you do it on the coast.
Were you trolling for the chum or just off the bank.

Thanks for the pictures of God's country, guys. Back in the day I did more than my fair share of fishing up there, mostly for summer steel on several Oregon rivers. Favorite was Santiam (spell?) fly fishing. Also up in BC on the short, upper river that runs into River's Inlet (forgot the danged name, but short and sweet it was). Lots of other beautiful rivers, too, but I had some near-unbelievable fishing on those first two. Man, what special fish and what beautiful country!
Speaking of beautiful, Deck Ape, those Labbies are a couple of great looking dogs! I am a big time Labby lover, so I got a big kick out of looking at those furry beauties on your avatar. They look a helluva lot more excited about that rooster than you do..."Be careful, boss, it might fly away on us!"
Good stuff all and thanks.

Were you trolling for the chum or just off the bank. | Sorry, A little confused since no fish for me. Dylan has the chum pixs. I do fish the Smith, across the Hwy from me alot. Rogue is another I enjoy. Going for some lings and such out of Brooking now. PM regarding Smith if ya want.
Cheers,
Mike

Ran to the northern Oregon coast this morning... Second cast with a new rod that i picked up last night and I was able to fool this dumb hatchery Silver into whacking that #6 Bluefox spinner... We also released two chinook...
