I've seen people hold their hands over their mouths to avoid puking in the cabin, only to have it come blowing out both nostrils. Talk about clearing sinuses....
Do I have sympathy for pukers? Sure I do. I myself puked plenty of times as a kid on our commercial boat. Puked almost every first trip of the summer when I was little. Had days when I got no sleep and held my head over the rail just like anybody else...... There's no humor in a nice individual that came fishing only to find out they get sea-sick.... that is a real bummer, and I do my best to help them get over it... I carry sea bands, talk them through it, provide bottled water, etc....
The humor, as mentioned above, comes mostly from the big tough guys that come aboard in the morning giving other people crap about getting sick, or talking about how they are going to show everyone else how to fish. That, or your buddies that stayed out drinking all night and now can't get off the deck because they are worthless pukers. THAT is some funny shit. I don't care who you are, when one of your fishing friends that decided to ring the bell last night is scraping his tongue on the rail on a snotty ocean, there's only one thing to say...... Why the hell aren't you helping out!? Get it together puke-boy!
A couple years ago I went out with Seelicious and Seely the day after the OTC Garibaldi event, and I barely managed to keep it together. The only thing that kept it in check was the writer from Sportfishing being on the boat....

The best was when Cornfed, after a greasy breakfast, farted in his Grunden's bibs and they gave him the full chimney effect. He caught one good wiff, then chummed his guts out. Truley classic!

I've sent people screaming from the tent in the middle of the night, but never farted so bad I made myself puke - now that there takes the cow pie!

I once witnessed a customer with their rain slicker with hood and bill zipped all the way up with only her eyes visible, desperately try to get the zipper down....yank....yank.....yank.......then the technicolor yawn... As the stream hit the slicker on the inside, it went vertical up, past her eyes that were now hidden behind the veil of an inverse puke waterfall, then deflect off the bill of the slicker to project outward and down.....
Apparently loosened by the lubricating qualities of gastro-intestinal fluid, once the bath stopped, the zipper on the jacket worked smoothly to reveal a nice white cashmere sweater destined for the garbage can.
Now.....did I feel bad for her? Yes, of course I did.... But you tell me.....was that funny?
