Well i got to thinking, well why not have tournament that could include all of the Northwest pacific fish( salmon, rock fish, ling cod, halibut, and tuna). The rules would be something like this. Can wiegh in only five fish to wiegh in, but also must have fish from three different categories (Salmon, rock fish, ling cod, halibut, and tuna) Each category would have its own point system base on difficulty and how far you have to go to catch the fish. Salmon-Rock Fish-Ling cod- 3 points-lb, Haibut 4.5 points-lb, Tuna 6 points-lb. Winner is the one with most points. So on and so on. Could do a series or single tournament. If done in series you could do what nascar does and have a point system. My question is if done who would do it, will anybody on this board do this. All proceeds will go to a chairty or maybe i was even thinking of going to some salmon recovery fund or research party or something. BUT WHO WOULD Enter a tournament like this?

I would suggest you also include Sturgeon as it's a main target - but certainly most easily targeted on the CR - so that would give folks in that area an advantage.
I would enter - depending upon the entry fee.
Logistics seem a bit daunting.

true, but if you have tuna, salmon, and lingcod or some have said to put sturegon in there to so, you could of sturegon, salmon, tuna or sturegon, halibut, salmon, theres just a lot of combinations, so can catch lingcod, that is what could make this tournament interesting and exciting because it has so many varibles

sounds fun. one problem I see is that with the seasons on certain fish, it might be a pain in the butt to get three kinds of fish. Sample: Sturgeon on the columbia is normally over by the 4th of july. Halibut season?..... No tuna yet... Might be a rock fish show.Later in the year, No halibut lots of tuna, No salmon..... I thinks dates would be very important for this tourney! now lets talk about the weather! every time.
Just my 2 cents

I would say that any extra pressure on fisheries that are already regulated heavily by Quota's would not be very good " tournament" fisheries. I realize that this is going to a good cause but really the quotas cant handle much more pressure as it is. My two cents worth!
