Saturday was an awesome day to be on teh ocean! we got out about 7:00 and we were back by about 11:00. I took a couple of friends of mine one of which had never been bottom fishing before. He had a blast. Here is a picture of him with his first ling cod.

I caught a nice Red Irish Lord that ws released

And we caught a bunch of cabbys

WE didnt keep any of the cabbys but they sure are fun to catch. The blacks we caught were good size as well. They seem to be a better average this year. For the first trip on the salt this year it was a dandy. WE caught LOTS of fish. WE did a lot of catch and release as the fish were flat out CHOMPIN.

Red irish lord, thats a cool lookin bottom dwellar. Almost looks like a sculpin. Are they poisones? Nice job on the lings and cabbs too.

The ocean was AMAZING. To bad there wasnt some longfins to chase! The Red Irish Lord is a SCULPIN. Cool looking huh! I dont think thier poisonous but I wouldnt want to be stuck by one anyhow.
