9/1 Long Day-No Fish

Left Mission Bay at 5:30 am with over a hundred macks in the tank and expectations for a great day. We headed for the 138 where we worked the zone for a while then headed west to the 43. Hell,.. I'll cut to the chase! I covered over 138 miles of ocean today, stopped on 34 paddies, and couldn't buy a fish. Some of these paddies were the largest I've seen in years. Birds were running across them! We worked the 43 down to the 230 then south to the 371. Headed upswell to the 302/224 zone then into the nick of the 9 working the ridge up to the 178 spot. Lots of birds picking but no joy. Arrived back in the slip at 7:30 pm. The ocean rolled today. If you're going tomorrow, good luck because you'll need it.

Damn, sorry to hear that! I do feel your pain as we did the same thing last Friday - 110 miles for zero fish. It was really humbling...

Re: 9/1 Long Day-No Fish

seas were typical today. typical swell and minimal chop. No huricane affect to speak of. Also no fish to speak of, but different story.
