Fishing Report
Date: 07/january/2004
Dear friends here in San Quintin the weather has been cold in the mornings
and warming from 9:00 a.m. to sun down.
Regardless from the weather the boats fished during the entire week most
went for the yellow tail getting their limits up to 26 pounds.
Those who went bottom fishing got their limit on rock cod, white fish and
ling cod.
One local angler venture 50 mile out, catching his limits bringing back 8
huges ling cods one weighting 28 pounds.
The yellows were caught at the 6, 15 and 240 spot.
The best results for the hits on the yellows were 6 ounces irons blue and
white and chrome and blue irons, about 150 to 200 feet down.
There were good results with live bait.
A group of anglers went fihing at Ben's Rock using Action Lures with
excellent result.
The jointed iron lure did really well on the lings an rock fish and one 40
pound mako shark.
White Sea Bass are still caught at El Socorrro with 25 pound catches.
Today the weather is 78 degrees blue waters from 59.5 to 61.5 degrees.
