Pac Dawn 2 day 8/23 - 8/24

Fished the Pacific Dawn for limits of Yellow Fin Tuna the first morning by 11 a.m. I got a dorado on the fiirst jig stop that was a triple. We got into a WFO stop of Yellow Fin Tuna that resulted in limits by 11 a.m. Put the big lures out for Bigeye and dodo and looked for patties. Some dorado cooperated on the troll and got some yellowtail on patties while trying to stay away from the tuna. Had 2 marlin short biters on the marlin jigs MJG and dorado colors. Heard the Prowler had a bigeye bite so we tried that area the next a.m. We caught some more Yellow Fin Tuna, dorado and yellowtail. Had some bigger boils around the boat on one stop but no biters. Again great crew, group and fishing with Pat. Off to sleep.

When we got to the docks the reports were bad. 6 ft seas and 20+ knots wind. We woke up to 10 knot winds and a leftover bump and swell. The weather got better as the trip went on. Lots of whales with fish under them. There were lots of seiners so we'll see how the area most of the fleet is fishing holds up.

Damn seiners, great trip, congrats, any idea where you were fishing? With all the seiners at the D220
