| Time to go fishing
The waiting game is over, there are finally decent numbers of fish in one day range. There was some excellent bluefin fishing to be had late last week and early this week (see the post on the Sea Adventure), and the albacore are starting to bite in one day range ( the Tracer had limits, and the Constitution had over 80 yesterday), but there are no crowds yet. On Sunday we saw numerous bird schools and boilers of bluefin (and a couple breezers of yellowtail) 40 miles from the point (Hidden Bankish) , and not a single boat to be seen all day, except for one seiner trasferring Blue Fin Tuna to a pen. If you want a bluefin I would go soon, or you may end up having to see Tommy to get one from Catalina Offshore.
Anyway, time to put some fresh line on, pick up a little flourocarbon (key for those Blue Fin Tuna) and go fishing.
Hope to see some of you soon,
-Markus

Lolllll

Since this is bloodydecks, I would maybe guess that everyone was on their private boat out fishing, but no--- the parking lot at Shelter Island was quite empty, and I only saw one other boat all day Sunday.

I have to concur with Markus 100%. The fish are out there and they are within range. Sending out ones and twos isnt going to do it. We need to get the fleet out there to work together to post the 100+ numbers you are looking for. The signs are there...and so are the recent counts for that matter.
Almost ALL of our boats have dropped their prices significantly and rightfully so. Times f'in suck right now. We are all collectively doing what we can to get each other off the dock. I guess we are still trying to figure out exactly what it will take to make that happen.....
Lets do this boyz!! We are ALL ready to rock 'n roll!!

This will be one of the hardest years for the fleet in recent history. Sad but true.

All we can do is hope for a really good July and August.
Sadly after this season, I project there will be many boats for sale.
