Are you concerned if your boat holds enough fuel or are you worried that you don't have enough money to buy the fuel to get there?
Again, just curious.

Shawn my original report was moved to another forum as I just found out ,and I guess i am trying to find out what it will cost to get there I know ive got enough tank capacity. unfortunatly gas is not gonna come down I think and if anyone is not concerned about gas prices these days , more power to them .

30-40 gallons including a day of trolling in my Gas powered Davis. 5.7 liter 280hp DP that holds 196 gallons of fuel. Damn, some guys seem offended you asked this question...lol

I had a smart reply but thought better of it..my boat..which isn't anything like your boat...would take about 50-60 gallons to run there and fish and come back to Mission bay...that's over $300 for gas and $60 for bait...tomorrow we have a hamburger on the aft deck in the slip and go to the Dirt Bag Deli for music in the afternoon if it has started yet this year..if the albies come closer, I go...if not, I don't...I can't understand how any reference can mean much as all boats are different and the conditions, speed, currents, etc would all have an impact..if it's worth it to run there for a few albies, go...if not, join us for burgers on the fan tail.

How far is the 302, like 30 some odd miles? I can't remember. If so, in my diesel Blackman 20, that would be like 20 gallons max for the day. Of course, I'd burn 20 to 22 gallons towing back and forth from Fullerton in my diesel Suburban.

for me anywhere's from 50-60 gallons, running and trolling, 10 hour day[18 hour day, 15-20gls more]. that's with a full [4] crew. by myself, and having my fuel/ bait tanks 1/2 full, not having a million lbs of tackle... i burn a lot less.

I just fished the 302/371 area last Tuesday in the 25' Parker 250 HP 4 stroke Yammie.
Launched about 5AM, came in around 5PM. Going out was kinda mixed swell and not real good angle into the swell, etc etc. Trolled all day back & forth and outside the spots including the 230 . Came in at 30 MPH (I don't like to dawdle...
55 Gallons of mid grade burned
