Headed out with Chris (BPFED) and Curtis (Squirtis) @ 0500 for the 371.390.421 area. Flat calm seas made an easy 22 knots. pulled up on a paddy 32.17/117.39 Chris gets a rat Yellowtail 8-10#, baby killer. Hit another paddy at 32.15/117.40 Curtis looses one at the boat when I miss the gaff and he is Thumbing the spool. Curtis gets hooked up again and lands a nice 16# Yellowtail. Way to go newbie. I have one break me off. :FU: Move on to another paddy 32.12/117.42 lots of Yellowtail chaing iron, swim baits, mega baits but wouldn't bite the jigs or the bait. water was claen deep indigo blue and 69 -70 degrees Moved west for even warmer weather. we were 50 miles from #s we had. Decided it wasn't worth the gas or time. Headed back towards the 371 . hit a few paddies for more brezzers with lock jaw.
Picked them up and ran for the islands. Set on the hook at the islands 32.25/117.06 and proceeded to pick at calicos, Yellowtail and barries. Curtis and Chris both got Yellowtail at17+#. I lost a good one on a fresh water trout rod when the flourocarbon top shot slipped the albright knot. from now on uni to uni for all my top shots and the hell with that flouro bullshit.

Floscan worked great. will know tomorrow how accurate when I top off the tanks but it appears to be pretty close from milage to mpg calcs. Oh ya thanks to Doc for the hand off on bait when he was leaving. saw dennis (aluminator) and swazi at the landing. Nice meeting you.

| many thanks
Just wanted to thank ORCA for his generosity in offering me (boatless ass clown) a ride on Friday. Beautiful day, and Don worked very hard to put us (sportin wood ) on fish. Also a thanks for surf doc, you need bait sure brother here's some ( right on man, very cool ) . All in all a perfect day to fish, a little slow but we still got a few nice ones. Chris, you are classic man, had a good time fishing with you and Don. Hope to do it again sometime.
Later
Curtis
