Daiwa Pac. 7/13 Albie Run, Better Than Most

I wasn't going to post this trip until I woke up this morning and read ALL of the not so good fish reports from yesterday. I chartered the Daiwa Pacific for my company, which was awesome because I had a good day of fishing, didn't have to pay for the trip and got paid for the day. We had 16 guys scheduled and at the last minute 1 backed out and another never showed. Left Thurs. p.m. w/ 14 guys. Headed out to the hidden bank, Captain said about 45 - 50 miles south to start the morning. Fishing was tough in the morning w/ mostly jig strikes and few bait fish. At this point, what we thought was the end of the day I somehow managed 3 bait fish with a boat total of about 20. We were heading north with the jigs in the water and got SLAMMED. This was around 4:45 and we landed on a school that went WIDE OPEN for 30 minutes. In this time I hooked 4 and landed 2 more with a daily total of 5 for myself. After pulling the bait in from this stop we could see the islands. I would say we were about 5 to 7 miles directly south west. Alot of boat pressure (seiners, sporties, p.b.'s) further South where we fished most of the day which had to be the reason for the decreased bite. Get out in open water away from everyone else and you might get lucky. In that 30 minutes we put 22 more fish on the boat. Boat total was 42 fish for 14 guys, not bad considering the tough conditions. The Daiwa is a great boat. Thre crew worked their ass off for us and fished very hard all day. Here's some pics Couldn't rotate the first pic of myself, sorry.

Nice job. Now the boss thinks you are a pretty smart guy with his act together. And 14 guys talking smack about the no-show. He's looking on careerbuilder.com right now.

Great job! Is that boat still owned by Kenny Buruch (not sure about spelling)? I chartered that boat the first season he got the boat and I believe his wife ran the galley. I fished open charter on it a few times also. I thought they did a great job on working extra hard. Good for you beating the odds and kicking some butt. 5 bait fish is 5 more than I've got this year.

Ken's still the captain, he worked really hard to get fish on the boat.
