There were several variables in this ID of the bird such as around the eyes, the length of the bill, the borders of the coloration, the time of the season and more to influence the ID. However, it was narrowed down to either a Cassin's Auklet or a Craveris Murrelet with both camps adament about their decision. As of today, I have mailed off the hottest trolling lure and most productive trolling lure in the history of SoCal saltwater sportfishing. It has surpassed the track record of Loco Joe. It is the 7Strand TCF200 in color Carrot Top. This is known as their tuna clone feather. They match this lure to also the tuna clone and tuna feather, but this lure is a combo of all. I first tried it 2 seasons ago. The more I put out the more albacore bit it until finally a quad on 4 of them. Yeah, I can get behind this performance. After a couple hundred albacore eating this jig in every position of the trolling pattern I was convinced that this was more than a coincidence. The TCF300 is their largest and that's the one I caught our 73 pound bluefin tuna on just a few months ago. OK, and the winners are: CRAVERIS MURRELET
1. HARMONICA JOHN THE HOOK
2. ORCA DON
3. JAYDOG
4. LTBOLTMAN - LEOMAN (need address)
5. SMUDGE - MATT wanted his given to JAYDOG so he'd "QUIT
CRYING" CASSIN'S AUKLET
1. MEEKO-ANDY
2. SCOTTH - SCOTT
You guys better run these jigs and let us all know. I have a close friend (Rude Ronny)with a boat in Loreto and he took one of these and won't leave me alone for more. It caught yellowtail, dorado, yellowfin tuna and a sailfish.

Martin.....take the pic to your favorite tackle shop and tell them you want a Sevenstrand TCF200 in color # 113.
That will be a tuna clone feather in carrot top. While you're at it have that lure compete against a TC200 in 113 which is a tuna clone in carrot top. This lure's big brother is the 300 series which is an inch longer and the head is slighly heavier which I like in bigger seas and caught me a 73 pound bluefin last season. Soooo, to complete your order get a TCF300 and a TC300 both in #113 carrot top.
Now you're stylin. No excuses now. |
