My 5 yr. old son Garrett aka "Fishkiller G" he named himself last year after being introduced to trout fishing. Was primed and ready to fish with Curtis and I on our pre M.A.W. shake down trip. He helped me pack the gear Sat. night and stated that he was gonna kill a "King Dorado" according to Garrett they are much larger than Bull Dorado's. The little guy was up at 2am and we were in the water shortly after 4am. He was stoked and watching for paddies shortly after sun rise. He went nuts over a pod of mammals and Curtis was showing him how to read the C120. That was classic,,,,, Curtis telling him how the fish finder, chart plotter, and radar operated. Next was a lesson auto pilot and trim tabs. He was soaking it all in and I'm pretty sure he's got is wired better than me! I'll never forget the happiness that he was showing when he first saw his Yellowtail and Dodo at color, then gaffed, amazing how stoked the little guy was. The winds came up and so did the seas, we went from 65nm down and out back to Dana Pt. in some real snotty weather and he acted like we were at Knotts Berry farm on a ride. Very cool to have a son with sea legs and a love for the ocean that he showed yesterday. After getting home he wanted to go to Claim Jumper to celebrate his King Dorado and "802 pound" Yellowtail (he's a chip off the old block) . So we called in an order to go and came home. He went running into the house and demanded that my wife check out the pix and print him some pictures before dinner. As I was tucking him in last night he said "thanks dad for the bestest day of my life". Thanks alot Curtis for being willing to take him out there with us, it sure makes working on Hanna all last winter worth it's weight in gold!

Dude you are so lucky he's a natural and your son is lucky too.

King Dorado he already has his first slang name for a toad Dode I want one

and he named himself fishkiller.

He's farther along then me already, I dont even know what those techinical names you used are or what they do.

Brandon,
he has outfished you since day one, he has the drive, the instinct and the joy.

I can't wait for the day he lovingly gives you the finger and sings "eee iiiii, eeee iiiiii, OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Great job, great kid.
