Hooked up on 9-9

Launched from dana point sat at 400 am and got some of the best bait I have ever had, at 7 pm after acouple hundred miles in the finatic they were still kickin! As we pulled out scott AKA Progress 1 called me and said he was launching behind us, Cool! Lets hook up! an Hour and a half later we were sof the 43 in some cold water, 66 to 67. Scott called and said they were picking some dodos off a paddy by the 182. We moved inside towards the 302 and found warmer water and some grass with dodos. landed 2. Scott came by and said he was going to go to the fly and off he went. Boy I will tell you he has a very nice boat! We called in wage burner as we saw him come by but the dodos vanashed! We then hear Rampage call and say he is on some Yellow Fin Tuna at the weather bouy so off we go. Along the way we found a couple more paddies and hooked up another dodo.
At the bouy the water was 70 but no action by the time we got there! started working back towards the 302 when the call came out from Allin. Don,t know if that was Criss or not but when we arrived we found progress was tearing up the Yellow Fin Tuna. He said mex and wood was working good for him so we changed and changed to no avil!slap: Now you guys know what im talking about when the guy next to you is hooking up left and right and you can't but a strick!!! SHIT WTF!!!!! Finally after numerous modifications when I speed up to 10mph bingo!!!!! hook up only on the reel with no clicker!!! Look back and almost spooled> After a long battel Yellow Fin Tuna on the boat! We hooked another and lost it on the gaff. Scott called and asked if we wanted to run home withthem but decided to stick it out. Worke the porpoise for a while then ran towards the 182. sw of that we found 3 hotels about 200 yards apart in a triangle that was holding. We proceeded to land 5 nice dodos and lost that many. At 7pm pulled the plug on the bait tank and ran 40 to 45 all the way back! I havent had a great day for some time now as my last 2 trips were buisness trips and all the fish were handed off. Nice to pull on my own fish and spend the day with great friends. Worked yesterday for all she was worth!!!!!!

Re: Hooked up on 9-9

Good running into you on the water, did not make it to where All In called about the Yellow Fin Tuna because we hit a real nice paddy with some quality fish on it. Too bad we went 0 for 3 on it, then ran out of macs. See you in the MAW.

Re: Hooked up on 9-9

Had a great time as usual Ross. Nice to get the rust off before the MAW tour. I know I needed the work on gaffing.
Hopefully we got rid af all the farming on this trip too.

Re: Hooked up on 9-9

just cruisin, ahhaha, I wish I could cruise at the speed...That sounds like those guys that fish the FLW kingfish tour. "It seems we are going to run 100 miles south and fish and then come back for weigh in before 2 PM"
If I ever buy another center console I am getting a donzi or scarab with 3 outboard...
I can run to the tanner bank on moment notice...

Nice boat.

svue, You are right I was thinking about a new boat in a couple years and a 38' CCF with triple 300'S is next! Like you said haul ass out and back, thats the way I like it! triple 300 will get you 70mph and fuel is not much worse than my doubles as they don't work as hard. Up keep and maint is 3 fold though, $1500 every 3 to 4 months if you run it evry week! But the ride Priclessssssssssssss
