Big zero for us today but hopefully it will help someone else.
Left MB at 6 to west of the 182. Temp peaked at 72 half way there and then went down to 71. Turned toward the 181 but temp kept going down. Turned back inward approximately six miles until temps started going up. Parrelled the coast for about ten miles with temp between 71.5 and 72. Then toward the upper nine until two short of the upper nine left turn parelle the coast toward La Jolla. Seven miles of 72 degree water toward LJ until temps decreases when we turn in. All this done at 20 kts.
There is a band of water at 72 between 9 to 16 miles offshore. Short or long of that temps go down.
20+ paddies baited during this trip for nada a single bite until we throw on a paddie about 3 miles outside LJ for a short bite ( in dirty green water ). Slow trolled macs outside LJ for one more short bite and head in to beat the traffic.
For those that did better than us today, we salute you....
Heard reliably that water west of the 43 was 68.
Pick your poison and make it happen.
