MARLIN LOWER 9-MILE & TWO DODOS AT 302

GREAT FISHING DAY!!

Put the boat in at SI around 5:30 , waited in line for a scoop of dines, headed for the 302.

About 16 miles out we see two marlin tailers and dropped two rigs in. Blaine happens to look back and see a marlin heading right for the blue & white rig on the good pole , BAM!! fish on

Blaine & Tom fought it for about 1/2 hour and brought to the side for a photo shoot. Kissed it goodbye and went on.

Got to the 302 and caught two 17# dodos on two different jig strikes. We were trolling four different lures and both jig strikes the dodos went for the sardine rapalas.

First marlin for the boat, first dodo for the skipper.

Is ther any way to make mile photos smaller in file size so I can post them?

Great Report !!
It sounds like the marlin are goning to be thick as flies in the next few weeks. They 're great eating fish so don"t throw all the carp back.

Striped Marlin are like Mackeral, if you do everything just perfect, and smoke it all in really good brine, you get 100lbs of marginal smoked fish. But if you C&R most of them (unless bleeders, first time catch, whatever), there will be some left next year. Just my opinion.

Nice job! Nothing quite as sweet as the first marlin - especially when you let it go!

Don't talk with your mouth full and quit wasting Dorado for taco meat, that's why god invented bottom fishing
