2.5 day on El Capitan 7/26 and 7/27

This board sounds like a broken record but in this case that is OK. Went on a 2.5 day on the El Capitan with skipper Alan Fay. Great trip with flat calm weather, great kelp paddie action on yellows and do do's (who would have thought) and a great crew and boat. Trip was the second annual Escondido/Encinitas Fire Department trip. A great group of guys who know how to have fun.

Left the evening of July 25 and headed down to the albacore area where some great catches were made. We had good action on the paddies but we could not get the albacore to bite. Decided to head west and give that area a try the next day. Same old story with good paddie action. Seiners were out in force and putting on a show with their airplanes, helis, speed boats, etc.

Great grade on all the fish with yellows from 12 to 28 pounds and nice size flatheads.

Thanks to Alan and crew for a great trip.
