Not the kind of report that's exciting to post. Left Mission bay @ 5:00am , made it to the 43 by 7:30. Water temp was 69+ at the 43. Kept heading west and temp was not dropping. Turned south-west and ran to west of W Butterfly, 15 miles away, water finally dropped from 70 down to 64-65. Color also looked good, but no fish. Stopped on 5-6 paddies all day, no action, but lots of bait, sounds like last year. Saw bait puddling around one paddy, it turned out to be 1 lb spanish mackeral. They sure create havoc on those sabiki rigs.Hope this helps anyone planning their run this week end

Thanks for the report - all reports are good reports, especially for those heading out this weekend!
Better luck next time.

Were there any sporties in the area?
I gotta agree with Ken, Any report is a good one, especially with the fuel cost lately.

I did fine today with 40# with flourocarbon leader. That seemed to work very well. I was on the Condor today. Breakfing fish EVERYWHERE. We found our best school on a whale. We started out near the fleet but had moved off the main body of the fleet a little ways.
See my other post on interesting story on my brand new Avet being mangled by a Blue Fin Tuna.

Non fish reports are just as important. Gas is too expensive for a wild goose chase.

Thanks for the report, sounds like straight west is only good for sight seeing and fuel burning right now......
