Hey guys,
Listen, we read the reports and decided to go any way 5/25/06. started the day with a couple of problems, had a problem with the bait tank pump, checked the fuse and when put back worked fine?? ( of course it happend right after loading up with a scoop of great looking bait) started out of Shelter Island, After fixing the first problem another jumped up, the linkage on our staboard engine came apart. put in at the bait barge took a quick look and found and fixed the problem. Off we go to the 302 we were able to run at about 12k to 14k head in to a pretty big swell mixed with a pretty terbulant chop, occational rouge waves would come through @ a respectable height. All said and done "THANK GOD FOR GRADY WHITE" I could not be happier with this old 26.5 kingfisher Grady White hull we bought from WahooCh (Scott) cut like butter!!!!!!!! took a while to hit the mark and ended up burning Qiute a bit of fuel getting there. saw quite a bit of life Pilot whales Dolphins some birds all on the inside of the 302 in 68-69degree water. marked a few fish nothin doin trolled with and around pods of dolphin and pulled the jigs for quite a few miles on the hunt for patties none of any size to be found. My guess is wind and wave damage. looked around a bit on the far side never found the temp brake? watching the fuel at 1/2 tank made the call to turn towards the coronados and learned a lesson about my boat first 1/2 tank moves FAST secound 1/2 moves like a slug and next time I will not only carry more fuel but i will run a lot longer and farther on my tank knowing what i know now!!! all in all a GREAT test run. My boat partner other wise known on this sight as Bobbybaroo (Jersey Bill) "LETS GO MET'S" and Congrats on your new Daughter Shea Lynn, wanted to get out and look around and after wed's. I would not be able to go for abit have alot of other things going on you know?? all in all a Great day on Beatiful blue water with some good buddies would not trade it for the world!!! Sorry we had no fish to report we did see some tuna mixed with the dolphin coming right out of the water wouldn,t touch any thing we had. We'll be back out ther first chance we get Gaurrente it. you know "IT IS WHAT IT IS!!!!"
