Clemente Island 4-22

Fished Aboard the Freedom out of 22nd St. Landing In san pedro , We left the Dock at 10 pm on 4-21 Headed to Yellowtail Point at Catalina Island to Make some Squid . Squiding was Slow for us we made a Couple of scoops of Bait and then Headed to Clemente Island . We arrived At the Island around 6am , Weather was shitty all day with overcast sky's and Choppy waters , Water Temp was was about 58 .
No signs of any Yellows all day , We Fished for Rock Cod the Whole Day at the South side of the Island , We caught 8 Sheephead 12 Whitefish 245 Rockfish 4 Lingcod, Jack pot was a Lingcod around 7 Lbs.
Even though Fishing was on the slow Side , I had a great time just being out on the water , I met 1 other Bloodydecker on the boat Tommy (Tommywho), This Guy wa a riot.
Highlight of the trip was a couple of Whales Breaching out of the water about a 100yards away from us. The Trip home was awesome as we played Poker ,and other Card games , I Broke Even after 4 Hours of playing

How was the Freedom?
I heard she changed hand a couple years ago and the current owners are doing a pretty good job with her.

Tommy Lee and Mike Franks Are the New owner and operators of the Boat . Big Improvement to the Boat, the Galley Was all Redone And Now is all stainless steel.Lots of deck space , rod space . This boat has always been one of my favorite local boats..

being from las vegas, i know......anytime you can break even, you're a winner. heh heh heh.... and spend a day fishing too? AWESOME!!!

Yeah good times on the freedom my first time fishing her. I would go again anytime, great boat in every way. Nice to finally fish with another BD'er. Funny Cal and Rich did play cards with us, you may find this hard to believe they were drunk.............lol. Great post John hope to see you on the water again.
